Who is eligible for the Italy Family Reunion visa

  • Close relatives of foreign citizens officially residing in Italy on a residence permit or permanent residence permit:
  • Spouses;
  • Minors under 18 years old;
  • Children over 18 years of age under the condition of incapacity for health reasons;
  • Elderly parents over 65 years old who are dependants of a person residing in Italy and who have no other relatives to take care of them.

Italy Family Reunion visa requirements

  • Original and copy of the official permit from the Unified Emigration Service of Italy for the relative residing in Italy;
  • Copy of residence permit or Permit to Stay of the relative residing in Italy and his/her passport;
  • Visa application;
  • Valid passport, which expiration date should be at least three months longer than the anticipated end date of the internship;
  • 2 3.5x4.5 cm photos;
  • Statement from a relative residing in Italy, confirming his/her desire to be reunited with his/her family, in accordance with the established Italian legislation;
  • Proof of family ties (birth certificate, marriage certificate);
  • Proof of financial solvency of the receiving party in relation to the required income of at least €8,850 per annum for the person residing in Italy and one relative moving to Italy;
  • Proof of availability of housing suitable for family reunification, taking into account the minimum space required:
2 persons - minimum 45 sq.m. and 1 bedroom (including a relative living in Italy);
3 persons - minimum of 55 square meters and 2 bedrooms;
4 persons - minimum 60 sq.m. and 2 bedrooms.
  • Visa fee payment receipt;
  • Proof that the elderly parents are dependent on the applicant (e.g., translations);
  • Written statement from the parents that they are dependent on the applicant;
  • Health insurance with a coverage of at least €30,000 for at least one year.
